The Laramie, means “Tears of Love!" This sweet little studded earring is a tribute to the beauty & value of LIFE!
These studded, tear shaped earrings are handmade of hammered fine silver with the option of an inset with a fine silver wrapped Herkimer Diamond.
The Cause:
Some dear friends of mine, Kelsey and Randy Bohlender, founded an amazing, non profit adoption agency in Kansas City, MO called Zoe’s House. Zoe’s House is rooted in the belief that all children are a gift from God. They assist expectant mothers in all walks of life, coming alongside them, partnering with them through a very challenging process. Zoe’s House is kept alive, providing this much needed service by through the funding of generous donors.
Frances and Dean was birthed out of my desire to make an impact on lives. In honor of my friends and their work at Zoe’s House, I am releasing a brand new design—the Laramie(Lair-uh-mee).
With the meaning “tears of love,” the Laramie is a dainty, fine silver tear-shaped studded earring, packed with meaning and intention.
The Laramie
Quality is one of our core values, which is why at Frances + Dean we use brass, bronze, sterling silver, fine silver & gold-filled metals. Filled metals far outlast silver or gold plated jewelry, as the metal is bonded to the core and does not chip or wear away. Gold-filled jewelry contains almost 100% more gold than gold plated. Gold-filled is not only more valuable, but is tarnish resistant as well as an economical alternative to solid gold.
So when you are shopping for pieces with longevity, always make sure you you are purchasing, at a minimum, gold-filled or fine/sterling silver. In today’s market, the cost of sterling silver and gold-filled is more affordable, allowing you to invest more in the quality of your pieces. Overall you will be paying more than you would for gold or silver plated (usually), but the cost is so worth it!
